Answer by ownpool Cornell is by far the best in the USA for hotel management. For culinary arts only, the vocational Le Cordon Bleu schools are probably a better choice.

I have a pretty good idea of what I want to be when I grow up. I guess I get decent grades. A’s, A-’s, and maybe 1 or 2 B’s. With this kind of grade range what colleges are POSSIBLE choices for me.

I will be graduating this summer with my Associates degree in business management, but i’ll be moving on to a four year college in fall. I can’t decided whether to just do hotel management or do business administration. I’m not sure if I will like hotel management or not. Some may argue that University of Queensland (UQ) is better b’cos it belongs to the Group of 8 (www.go8.edu.au). However I think the group was created mainly for promotional purpose. They are the famous universities, but that’s it. It is not indication of how good they are in Hotel Management.
Both Griffith & UQ are public universities with full accreditations on their courses, so you do not have to worry abt recognition of your degree after you have graduated. Therefore what you really need to do is to carefully read the course information again and compare the subjects that they teach.
If there’s an Australian Education Exhibition nearby, just come and talk with the staff from both unis and ask them if the course also offer work placement for training. A good program in hotel management usually has work placement. Also you might be able to meet the alumnis from both universities so ask them and get the feel of their own alma mater.
